One of the features I liked about Google Chrome is that you can type in a url or do a search in the address bar instead of having a separate search field like Internet Explorer or Firefox. This feature can be added to Firefox with the Foobar extension. It comes with some nice options that allow you to choose how you want Foobar to to act as well. For example you can have searches open in new tabs instead of the focused (the tab your viewing) one. This is a perfect feature for me since I practically always do a search in a background tab while reading another one. |

This solution should work for Windows XP/Vista/7.
Recently I had an issue where some of my windows would appear off screen when they were restored down. The only way to view the window was to view it maximized. If you suffer this problem with some of your windows all you have to do is:
1. Go to the taskbar and right click on the application and choose ‘Move’. 2. Your cursor will now changes shape to one with arrows at each corner. Use your arrow keys to move the hidden app to where you can see it.
If the hidden application does not offer a Move option:
1. Go to the taskbar and select the application. 2. Use ALT+SPACE+M to activate the Windows Move option. |

Ever get tired of reading the updates on Facebook that say this person is now friends with this person or so-in-so is now a fan of some ridiculous page or group? How about all of those annoying application updates? If you answered yes and you’re a Firefox user you can install the Facebook Filter Extension to block all of those annoyances.
Description from website:
Facebook Filter lets you control which types of posts appear on your Facebook News Feed. You can choose to show or hide the following types of News Feed posts:
- “Is now friends with someone” - “Became a fan of a page” - “Joined a group” - “Was tagged in an album” - “Commented on someone’s status” - “Likes someone’s status” - Events (announcing events and attending them) - Applications (all except those you choose to display).
It can also remove “Recent Activity” posts from the Wall tab of your Profile page. And it can keep your Home page always on the “Most Recent” News Feed. See the checkboxes for these two features on the Options window — they’re disabled by default.

Ever wish when you click on an email link your gmail account would load up instead of your default mail program? I did and I found these quick, easy steps to make it happen.
1. Open Gmail in Mozilla Firefox. 2.Type into the address bar:
javascript:window.navigator.registerProtocolHandler(“mailto”,”https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s”,”Gmail”)
If you do not require a secure HTTPS connection, to Gmail, use:
javascript:window.navigator.registerProtocolHandler(“mailto”,”http://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s”,”Gmail”)
3. Hit Enter. 4. Click Add Application under Add Gmail (mail.google.com) as an application for mailto links?. 5. Select Tools | Options… or Firefox | Preferences… (Mac) from the menu in Mozilla Firefox. 6. Go to the Applications tab. 7. Make sure Use Gmail is selected under mailto.
You can also install a gmail notification extension that will set it to default as well. - Instructions found on About.com. |
